Whether you are a beginner or already have some experience of painting and drawing, this creative course will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to develop and expand your range of both traditional and contemporary techniques.
A selection of my recent work:
Over the term we will cover a variety of techniques such glazing, layering, impasto and alla prima. Fundamentals of composition, tone and colour theory will be combined with more experimental approaches. Risk-taking is encouraged!
We will work from a variety of subject matter including landscape, direct observation, portrait and abstraction. Life-drawing and plein-air sessions can also be arranged!
This is a mixed-ability class with beginners more than welcome and fully supported to work at their own pace. More experienced students will have plenty of scope to extend themselves and experiment and are welcome to opt out of demonstrations and work more independently should they choose.
Informal feedback sessions will provide the opportunity to celebrate work and gain inspiration from classmates!
You will have a comfortable and generous work space complete with table easels, tablets and full access to a wide range of high-quality materials.
